First Libertarian Candidate Announces Run for Florida Attorney General
Bill Wohlsifer, a Region 3 Representative of the Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF), announced his run for Florida Attorney General. In his announcement, Wohlsifer emphasized that Florida needs a leader who will see to it that every Florida citizen enjoys equal treatment under the law and will have access to a transparent government, where no person or corporation is above the rule of law.
Wohlsifer is running as Florida’s first Libertarian candidate for Attorney General. His platform focuses on strong libertarian social and economic issues.
Wohlsifer promises to work toward ending the War on Drugs and to eliminate Florida’s prison overcrowding problem by releasing non-violent offenders from incarceration. He proposes bringing Medical cannabis and Hemp legalization to Florida, as well as challenging Florida’s ban against same-sex marriage on the basis of its being a denial of equal protection under the law.
Wohlsifer will protect Floridians against overreaching federal encroachment, promote open carry and protect the Second Amendment. He will investigate allegations of corruption in state government. He will fight against fraudulent and deceptive trade practices, and will ensure that the little guy is equally represented in the state’s legal affairs.
William Richard Wohlsifer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 1991, and Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1996, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class.
His firm, in Tallahassee, Florida, William R. Wohlsifer, PA, practices debt collection, copyright and trademark litigation, and homeowners’ association law throughout the State of Florida and in the District of Columbia. Wohlsifer is licensed to practice in all of Florida’s state courts, Florida’s Northern, Middle and Southern District federal civil courts, Florida’s Northern and Middle District bankruptcy courts, the District of Columbia’s Court of Appeals and Superior Court.
In addition to being the Region 3 Representative for the Libertarian Party of Florida, Wohlsifer has served as Chairman of the Leon County Libertarian Party.
